ACCOMPLISHMENTS MAKE KREIDER WORTHY

Here are a few examples of what Rep. Jim Kreider has accomplished for the 142nd District:

He`s helped get grants worth $300,000 for expansion of law enforcement in Nixa and Ozark, expansion of sewer systems in Nixa and Ozark, and funds for the Ozark square historic preservation.
He helped lower taxes as co-sponsor of tax cuts on groceries and private pension and sponsored an amendment to a bill tripling the dependency deduction from $400 to $1,200.
In education, he was a critic of desegregation legislation and forced several changes to the final bill that brought $40 million out-state schools. He worked hard as a member of the House Education Committee to pass SB380 which allowed a 30 to 40 percent increase in state dollars to school districts of Clever, Billings, Highlandville, Nixa, Ozark and Republic. And he worked to secure numerous grants for local schools.
He was a transportation committee member, helping to bring improvement projects to the district such as Christian County EE-U.S. 65 interchange in Ozark, Missouri 14 in Nixa and the Missouri 174-U.S. 60 interchange in Republic.
He sponsored or supported legislation that became law such as harsh prison terms for methamphetamine dealers and repeat offenders, a consumer bill of rights for those who have managed health care, required insurance companies to pay for at lease a 48-hour stay for maternity care and required felons to serve 85 percent of their sentences.
I am proud to call Kreider my friend and representative. I am also very pleased his co-legislators find his work worthy enough to have voted him Speaker Pro Tem.
