Kreider honored by Grocers Assoc.

Speaker Pro Tem Jim Kreider, Representative for the 142nd District of Missouri, was presented the National Grocers Association "Spirit of America Award" on October 17, 1998 by National Grocers Association's Director of Government Relations, Christine Corcoran. The award was bestowed during the Missouri Grocers Association Annual Convention at Tan-Tar-A resort in Osage Beach, Missouri.

Rep. Kreider was selected for the award based on his contribution to the future of the grocery industry within the State of Missouri and on a Federal level.

The "Spirit of America Award" is given annually to an individual from the State of Missouri by National Grocers Association (N.G.A.) in cooperation with the Missouri Grocers Association (MGA). The award is bipartisan in nature and takes into consideration successful compromise and cooperation to achieve results for the grocery industry.

Previous "Spirit of America Award" recipients include the following legislators and Southwest Missouri leaders: Representative Mel Hancock, Representative Don Koller, Representative E. Thomas Coleman, Representative Bill Emerson, Don Woods, Jr. of Woods Supermarket in Bolivar, Richard Taylor of Rameys/Price Cutter Supermarkets in Springfield, Chuck Murfin of Murfin's Market in Ozark, and George Dillard of Missouri Grocers Association.

Missouri Grocers Association is a not-for-profit service organization based in Springfield, Missouri. It represents approximately 1100 grocery retailers, wholesalers, brokers, vendors, manufacturers and related companies in the State of Missouri.
