Nixa's Reid Points to Representative's Dedication to Education, Schools

The Honorable Jim Kreider, State Representative in the 142nd District, is a candidate for re-election this fall. As an educational practitioner, I want to make the voters aware of some of the important accomplishments of Jimmy Kreider for the public schools in his district.

1. Consistent and vocal opposition to huge state desegregation payments to the Kansas City and St. Louis School Districts as evidenced by his criticism of and vote against SB781 (among other things, provides permanent desegregation funding for Kansas City and St. Louis School Districts) this past session.

2. Consistent leadership role in promoting legislation to provide both facilities and funding for growing school districts.

3. Sponsorship and leading legislative advocated for Constitutional Amendment Number Four, which was passed overwhelmingly by Missouri voters in April 1998 and allows local school patrons the option of voting to build additional buildings to house increased student enrollments.

4. As Speaker Pro Tem of the House of Representatives, the critical decision maker in House floor debate on SB781 to ensure that significant funding for outstate school districts was not stripped from the bill.

These are just a few of many efforts by Representative Kreider to provide strong leadership in the Missouri General Assembly for funding and maintaining excellent public schools in the 142nd District and throughout Southwest Missouri. I urge you to support Rep. Kreider throughout his campaign and to vote for him on Tuesday, November 3.
